Even though photography has become a daily thing, camera shyness isn’t uncommon. There are a lot of reasons why people become camera shy. Some don’t like the way they look, while others are too shy to let their inner goddess out.

Some of these may apply to you. Maybe none. Maybe all of them. No client’s experience is the same but when I ask them “WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG TO FINALLY BOOK?” these are often the things they will tell me!

“I Need to Lose Some Weight First”

I’ve heard a lot of women make excuses along the lines of, “I never look good in pictures”, “I need to shed a couple of pounds”, etc. What you need to do is to stop being a critic of yourself and listen to what I’ve got to say: Be your own kind of beautiful!

As a society, we try to look for ways to make us appear smaller in photographs. I disagree. It is my job as a portrait photographer to make sure that you look the best version of yourself in the most flattering way possible.

You are worthy of anything you want as soon as you make the decision that you deserve it. i can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that you deserve to love and honour the woman you are right in this very moment. Because the ghosts of the former versions of us need it. Our future selves need it. Be brave enough to love yourself and all of your imperfections. It’s okay to make yourself a priority. Portraits and boudoir are not about having the perfect body. They are about learning that your body, the one that let’s you experience this incredible thing we call life, is perfect the way it is right now and everyday moving forward as it naturally evolves over time.

“I Don’t Feel Confident In Front of Camera”

Well, nobody does at first. However, the whole point of a glamour or boudoir photoshoot is to liberate yourself from your daily activities and realize how beautiful and confident you really are. Apart from the final photo, a glamor photoshoot is a complete experience and it is my job to bring out the best in you.

“I Don’t Know How to Pose”

Posing is an art form that requires a little practice and is one of the biggest challenges photographers face while starting portraiture. That being said, professional photographers learn to master poses after gaining years of experience and can easily pose their subjects to bring out the best in them.

“I Can’t Spend That Kind of Money On Myself”

Photography is a form of art and the money you invest in this art is actually invested in discovering yourself through multiple dimensions of creativity. Sure, you could have your other half do it for you, but the greatest thing about professional photographers is that they have all the required skills and knowledge to create something worth remembering for many years to come.

“What Would I Do With Photos of Just Me”

There are thousands of things you can do with photos of yourself and these reasons vary from person to person. Commonly, portrait photographs are chosen for personal branding, historic preservation, and of course, personal pleasure.

Glamor and boudoir photo sessions produce quintessential works of art that you can proudly display in an album, share online, store in a family heirloom box, or even proudly display in your home. Each time you pass by your exquisite portraiture, you will feel a rush of confidence and empowerment.

Give yourself an opportunity to see how beautiful you really are and I’ll take it from there.
