Portraits for the Woman Rebuilding Herself from the Inside Out
Portraits in Ayrshire, Glasgow, and across Scotland that go deeper than headshots—designed for women evolving, rebuilding, and leading.
If you’re rebuilding—after burnout, a breakup, a career pivot, or simply a deep season of change—you’re not starting from zero. You’re starting from truth. The right portrait session can honour that. My work focuses on personal branding, business portraits, and empowering portraits that reflect who you’re becoming, not what you’ve escaped.
I’m now based in Coylton, South Ayrshire, and I photograph on-location across Ayrshire (South, East, North), Glasgow, Renfrewshire, South Lanarkshire, West Dunbartonshire, Inverclyde, and Dumfries & Galloway. Sessions are by appointment and designed to feel calm, focused, and genuinely you.
Why portraits during a rebuild?
Change shifts how we see ourselves. Portraits give you a mirror that tells the truth kindly. For business, they anchor your brand with current, aligned visuals. For life, they remind you daily that you are resilient, capable, and allowed to take up space.
I work with women who are returning to themselves: founders refining their brand voice, leaders stepping into visibility, and mothers reclaiming their own identity alongside everything they hold. Your session can be fully business-focused(headshots, brand stories, team portraits) or personal and empowering, with the tone that feels right for you.
My path north—and why it matters to your photos
After years serving clients in Worcester and the Midlands, I felt a clear pull to Scotland. It wasn’t a neat, linear plan. It arrived through intuition and dreams: a sense of heading north to a place that felt warmer and more open, and to a slower rhythm that lets the real you breathe. Moving to Ayrshire became part of my own rebuild—simplifying, trusting my inner compass, and choosing work that feels honest.
That same approach shapes every session. I don’t force you into a version of yourself that photographs well. I help you be yourself in front of the camera—and then we make thoughtful choices (light, colour, styling, direction) that support it.
Personal branding or business portraits—what’s the difference?
Think of personal branding as the fuller story: portraits, details, and scenes that show your personality, values, and the way you work. Business portraits (including corporate headshots) are a little more formal and streamlined for LinkedIn, websites, and press.
Either way, our aim is the same: clarity + ease. We plan looks that match your role and your message, then photograph with gentle direction so you feel at home in your skin.
Wardrobe, makeup, and mood—kept simple
You don’t need a wardrobe overhaul. Bring 2–4 outfits that feel like you on a great day—textures you love, cuts that move well, tones that support your brand palette. For makeup, choose the version of you that you actually wear:
- Natural polish: clean skin, soft definition, neutral lip.
- Retro wing + lip: tidy liner with either a statement or natural lipstick.
- Soft glam: a touch more depth for warmth and presence.
- Modern smoky eye: controlled depth if you prefer eye emphasis.
For personal branding, you can lean one step bolder; for corporate, keep it one step softer. Either path will photograph beautifully when shine is controlled and colour matches your neck/chest.
What a session with me feels like
- Discovery call (free): we talk goals, locations, and how you want to feel when you see the images.
- Simple prep: I’ll share a short guide on outfits, makeup options, and practical tips.
- On-location in Ayrshire/Glasgow: quiet corners of town, workspace scenes, or natural settings—chosen to match your brand and pace.
- Gentle direction: I’ll guide posture, angles, and micro-expressions so nothing feels forced.
- Selection and refinement: you choose your favourites; I apply natural, timeless retouching that keeps skin looking like skin.
I don’t host sessions at my home. Everything is on-location, which lets us build images that feel lived-in and real.
Scotland as a backdrop—grounded, real, and timeless
Ayrshire offers clean, natural light and space to breathe—coastal tones, soft greens, and simple textures that flatter both personal brands and business teams. Glasgow brings pace and edge when you need a more urban mood. We choose settings that support your story rather than distract from it.
Who this is for
- Founders and coaches ready to align visuals with a refined message.
- Leaders and professionals who want headshots that feel human, not stiff.
- Women in transition who want portraits that mark an inner milestone with grace.
- Teams who need consistent, modern images for websites and press.
If you’re rebuilding, you don’t need to pretend. You need steady, honest images that hold your progress without demanding perfection.
My promise
- Kind direction, never pressure.
- Editing that respects your features and texture.
- Clear communication and simple steps.
- Images you’ll keep using—because they still feel like you months from now.
